The Elf on the Shelf pack comes with a beautifully illustrated story book, and a North Pole Scout Elf who sits on a shelf, mantelpiece, table or could even hang on the Christmas tree. The Scout Elf keeps an eye on the children of the household over the festive season. Every night the Scout Elf flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa which children have been naughty and those who have been nice.

The Scout Elf flies back in the morning and sits in a different position. When the household awakens the first magic of the day is to see where the Scout Elf is.
